Sheikh was lightly backed at 4 years of age but due to our ongoing family commitments and through no fault of his own his ridden career was put on hold,  during this time we kept our breeding to a minimum using him occasionally on our own mares and he of course was quite happy in his paddock “playing and relaxing”

In January 2016 we brought Sheikh back into work after a 6 year break (a bit of a shock for him initially) but he hadn't forgotten the good basic groundwork instilled in him as a youngster, Sheikh was a quick learner and came along nicely,  rather enjoying himself and loving all the extra attention  and new adventures with his young partner and then teenage rider Jordan Shaw.

Fast Forward 4 years to 2020 and  after a few years of starting and stopping his ridden work due to no permanent rider and juggling the commitments to complete his regular stud duties Sheikh is now back with a new partnership and working happily at Elementary level at home.

Moving forward from the cancellation of all equine events due to the Covid outbreak, during late summer 2020 we finally managed to sneak in a few outings between lockdowns and at 14 years of age Sheikh took part in his first competitive BD Dressage Tests, always being placed in the first 3 at Prelim and Novice Level with scores exceeding 65%

Sheikh has a very sensible temperament, he has excellent manners both under saddle and on the ground and is proving to be a fabulous all rounder, he shows a great enthusiasm for jumping and is not too sharp or silly, he is wonderful to work with and has been handled on a regular basis by both children and adults, his stock have been awarded Gold Premium Awards & Head Stud Book status with the SPSS and BBF.

Sheikh's two eldest fillies 'Sheer Lace'  & ' R Marni ' have been retained by the stud and are now commencing work on the lunge, over poles and under saddle, both are progressing easily and very quickly.

They will hopefully continue their ridden careers at a later date but for now they have both joined our small band of Broodmares, their first foals are expected in 2022.

Silver Sheikh's Dam

Millspring Zada

Durrah (by Zircon Nazeer) X Pioneerstud Golden Chieftain

Prizewinnier at National & County Level her Sire a 3 X Sup Nat Champ and her Dam sired by 2 X European Arabian Champ Zircon Nazeer.

A kind natured, sane, easy to do little mare, who away from the show ring loved to have a blast around a course of showjumps,  Zada is  now retired from breeding but is still in regular work with her new owner, they have a combined age of over 90 years.

Sheikh's Grandsire Pioneerstud Golden Chieftain appears on both sides of his pedigree, prior to being exported from the UK to Queensland Australia in 2000 he held  3 x Reserve National Supreme Championships and  3 x National Overall Supreme Palomino Championships plus many others too numerous to mention,  a record that until 2016 remained unbeaten.

Chieftain sired many champions and his legacy has been enduring, his lines are still seen in many horses competing and winning in the show rings today.
